My Practice

I focus my practice on the intersection of art and commerce, and the myriad ways businesses partner with artists, content creators, and other creatives.

I explain and advise on potential risk and opportunities to maximize client advantage in the agreements my clients enter into.  My goal is for clients to be fully aware of material terms so they can make informed and empowered decisions when entering into a deal. This includes assessing how much risk they want to take on, whether a “standard” contract provision may have negative implications for a specific engagement, and whether the agreement they are signing matches the terms that were negotiated.

In addition to representing brands and agencies with rosters of creatives, I have also directly represented fine artists, photographers, and other creative professionals. I provide counsel on and prepare agreements related to creative service transactions like content licensing, influencer and brand partnership deals, and more. I have worked with creative content deals on the business end, not just as a lawyer negotiating for a client, so I have a unique understanding of the client perspective.

I am licensed to practice law in New York and California, two hubs for art and creative content.
